EPCO: New compounding plant at Ravago Plasticos premises, Villalonga (ES)
|
In November 2002 Ravago had the opportunity to take over EPCO, an ABS compounding unit from BASF with a capacity of 20.000 MT/year.
For the last 3 years, Ravago operated the compounding unit on the BASF premises in Tarragona.
At the location of the Ravago Plasticos plant in Villalonga, 20.000 mē of land were available to build on. It was logical to bring both production plants from Ravago in Spain together on one location as it optimised supply, logistics and administration services considerably.
During the years, Ravago had built up experience by building compounding plants in Beerse (EPC and Tosaf Belgium), Locate Varesino (Ravago Italia, div. MP Compounds) and in Schkopau (RPC), where always the newest compounding technologies were installed. The new factory is the result of years of experience with these existing installations.
The EPCO compounding plant has 4 state of the art compounding machines, a flexible packaging line, sufficient warehouse capacity and a high tech lab to ensure high quality compounds leaving the plant.
The 4 compounding lines at EPCO have a capacity of 20.000 MT, are multifunctional and have the flexibility to produce not only ABS compounds, but also polyolefin and technical compounds. This gives EPCO the capability of delivering products, which fulfil the needs of new developments in the plastics market.
